To add a free website quote request, build a short form that asks what the customer needs, when, and how to reach them, then paste its embed code or link onto your business page. Visitors can fill it in about a minute, and each request lands in your email, so you can price the job without playing phone tag.
Use the free quote request template
Why a form beats "DM us for prices"
A home baker in Pune gets an Instagram message that says "price?" She has to ask what cake, how many people, which date, and where to deliver. Four replies later the customer has gone quiet.
A plumber in Ohio has the same problem by text. He needs the ZIP code, what is leaking, and whether it is an emergency. A form asks all of that up front, so the first thing you read is a request you can actually price.
It also works while you are busy. Someone looks at your page at 11 p.m., fills in the form, and you answer in the morning with a number instead of a question.
The fields to ask for
Keep it short. Every extra field loses a few people. Start with these:
| Field | Block to use | Why it helps |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Short answer | You can greet them properly |
| Phone or WhatsApp number | Phone number | Most local jobs get settled in a quick chat |
| A backup, and it lets the form send a confirmation | ||
| What do you need? | Multiple choice | List your real services so answers are comparable |
| Details | Long answer | Size, quantity, problem, anything unusual |
| Photo | File upload | Useful for repairs, painting, alterations |
| Needed by | Date | Tells you how urgent it is |
| Area or ZIP | Short answer | Rules out jobs outside your range early |
You do not need all eight. The baker can drop the photo field and add "number of guests". The plumber can drop the date and keep the photo. A dental clinic should stay with service type, preferred time and contact details. Leave medical history out of a web form, because Qwenvo has no HIPAA offering.
Build it in about fifteen minutes
Our team builds Qwenvo, a form builder that is completely free, and it fits this job well. Here is the path:
- Open the quote request template and rename the fields to match your services. It is one of 180+ free templates.
- Type
/in the editor to add or remove blocks. It works like a document. - Add conditional logic if your services differ. If someone picks "Wedding cake", show a question about guest count. If they pick "Cupcakes", ask for a dozen count instead.
- Open Settings and turn on email notifications to you. Turn on confirmation emails to the customer too.
- Switch off the Qwenvo branding toggle so the form looks like part of your page.
- Edit the thank-you page to say when you reply and where, for example "I answer quotes by 6 p.m. on the same day."
- Open the form on your own phone, submit a test, and see how it looks.
Most form builders charge for several of the things above. On Qwenvo you get no badge, a custom domain, partial submissions, visit and drop-off analytics, unlimited teammates and AI triage at $0, with no card and no trial. For comparison, Tally's free plan is generous, but removing its branding, custom domains, teammates and partial submissions are on Pro at $29 a month ($24 a month billed yearly).
If you take deposits, the Payment block uses your own Stripe account. Qwenvo charges a 0% platform fee, and only Stripe's own fee applies.
Put it on your page and everywhere else
On the Share tab you will find three embed styles: Standard (sits inside the page), Popup (opens when someone taps a button) and Full page. Copy the code and paste it wherever your page accepts HTML. A popup behind a "Get a quote" button is usually the cleanest choice on a phone.
If your page only takes links, use the public link instead. Put it on a "Get a quote" button, and use it in other places too:
- Your Instagram bio
- A saved WhatsApp reply for when someone asks "how much?"
- The website field of your Google Business Profile
- A printed card or the side of your van
Qwenvo has no built-in QR code. Paste the link into any free QR generator and print the result. You can also set a link preview (image, title, description) so the link looks tidy wheen you send it in a chat.
There is more on this in our free website contact form guide, since a quote form is a contact form with better questions.
Reply fast and keep track
A quote is a race. The owner who replies first often wuns, so set things up so requests cannot hide.
Email notifications reach your phone like any other email, which matters because Qwenvo has no mobile app. If you like spreadsheets, connect Google Sheets and every request becomes a row you can sort by date.
Partial submissions are worth turning on. If someone filled in their phone number and left before the last question, you will see an incomplete row. You will also see on the drop-off analytics which question makes people quit, and that is usually the one to shorten or cut.
If you have a helper or a spouse answering messages, add them as a teammate. For a busier business, AI triage gives each submission a priority, category and a suggested reply, and routing rules can send urgent ones to up to 5 email addresses. A one-person shop does not need that on day one.
Other tools worth a look
Google Forms is free with a Google account and fine for a plain request. It has no built-in payments, limited design and branding, and customers must sign in with Google to upload files, which is a real problem if you want photos of the job.
Tally's free plan covers unlimited forms and submissions, logic, payments and file uploads up to 10 MB per file. If you are happy with its branding on the form, it may be all you need.
Here is the honest part about Qwenvo. It launched in October 2026, so there are few reviews yet. Also, if you want a printable PDF of each request, the PDF export cannot draw some scripts such as Devanagari or Arabic, or emoji. CSV and XLSX exports handle them fine, which matters if your customers write in Hindi or Marathi.
Questions owners ask
Does my page need special features to show a form?
It needs to accept embed code (HTML), or let you add a button with a link. If it only supports text and images, link to the form instead. The customer lands on a clean form page, fills it in, and comes back to you by phone or email.
Can customers pay a deposit through the form?
Yes. Add a Payment block connected to your own Stripe account. Stripe is the only provider, so check that Stripe works in your country first.
Is it really free, or is there a catch?
There are no paid plans. The fair use policy says an account sending around 50,000 submissions or 50,000 emails a month, or 100 GB of uploads, gets contacted about a custom arrangement. A local shop will never get near that.
Should I put prices on my page as well?
If you can, put a "from" price or a typical range for your most common job. It keeps out people who cannot afford you, and the form is then for the jogs that really need a custom number.
Your nexxt step: open the quote request template, cut it down to the services you actually sell, and send yourself a test request from your phone before you share the link.
