Free contact form for a website with no code or plugin

The fastest free contact form for a website is one you build in a form builder and paste into your page as an emmbed. You write the fields, copy one snippet, and drop it into an HTML block. There is no plugin and no coding. Enquiries land in your email inbox, and you can have it live in about ten minutes.

Start from the free contact template

What you need before you start

Three things: access to edit your website, an email address you check daily, and five minuyes to decide what you actually need to ask.

Most owners ask too much. A plumber in Ohio needs a name, a phone number, and a line about the problem. A home baker in Pune needs the cake size and the date wanted. Anything beyond that gives people a reason to close the page and message you on WhatsApp instead.

Your site builder needs to accept an HTML or embed block. WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Framer, and Notion all do. If you can add a "custom HTML" or "embed code" block, you are set.

Build the form

Use a template and trim it. Our team builds Qwenvo, a completely free form builder, and its contact form template gives you the basic fields already in place. Open it, delete what you do not need, and type / to add anything missing.

Here is a good starting set:

Field Block to use Notes
Name Short answer Required
Phone Phone number Required if you call back, optional if you reply by email
Email Email Required, so you can reply
What do you need? Long answer Keep the label friendly and specific
Service type Dropdown Optional. Useful for trades, e.g. burst pipe, water heater, quote
Spam check Captcha Add it before you publish

Five or six fields is plenty. If you run a clinic in the US, keep health details out of the form and ask people to shate those by phone. Qwenvo has no HIPAA offering, so it is the wrong place for them. Jotform lists HIPAA features on its paid plans if you need that.

Embed it on your site

This is the part people expect to be hard. It is a copy and paste.

  1. Open the form and go to the Share tab.
  2. Choose the Standard embed (Popup and Full page are there too if you prefer a button that opens the form).
  3. Copy the code.
  4. On your website, add a Custom HTML block (WordPress), an Embed element (Webflow or Framer), or a code block (Wix and Squarespace). In Notion, tyep /embed.
  5. Paste, save, and publish.

Open your live page on your phonne, not just your laptop. Most of your visitors will be on a phone, so check that the fields are easy to tap and that the submit button is visible without hunting. The embed help article covers each site builder in more detail.

Make sure the enquiries reach you

A form that sends enquiries into a void is worse than none. Before you tell anyone it is live, do these in the form's Settings drawer:

If you want one cleaner address for enquiries, such as hello@yourbusiness.com, use that in the notification settings rather than a personal Gmail.

Which free options limit submissions

This is where free plans differ most, and it matters for a contact form because you do not want to find out about a limit when a customer is trying to reach you.

Tool Free plan, from each vendor's own pages
Qwenvo $0, no paid plans. Fair use applies: accounts sending around 50,000 submissions or emails a month are contacted about a custom arrangement
Tally Unlimited forms and submissions. File uploads up to 10 MB per file
Google Forms Free with a Google account. Limited design and branding
Fillout 1,000 responses a month on free
Typeform Free plan with a limited number of responses (no number stated)
Jotform Free Starter plan with form and submission limits, and Jotform branding

A small local business is unlikely to hit 1,000 enquiries a month, so even tighter limits might be fine for you. The thing to watch is what else sits behind the paywall.

Tally's free plan is generous on submissions, but removing its branding, using a custom domain, adding teammates, and seeing partial submissions are on Pro, which is $29 a month or $290 a year. On Qwenvo, those are all included at no cost: no badge (it is a toggle in Settings), custom domains, unlimited teammates, partial submissions, visit and drop-off analytics, AI triage of each submission, custom design and CSS, and 180+ templates.

Google Forms is a reasonable pick if you already live in Google and do not mind the plain look. It works, but you have little control over how it appears on your site.

One honest note on Qwenvo: it launched in October 2026, so there are few reviews yet. It is also hosted in the United States, while Tally is hosted in Europe. If your customers are in the EU and that matters to you, Tally is worth a look.

Small upgrades worth making later

You do not need these on day one. Come back when the basic form is working.

Questions owners ask

Do I need a plugin to add a contact form?

No. A plugin installls code on your site and needs updates. An embed is a snippet that loads the form from the builder's servers, so there is nothing to install or maintain on your side.

Will it work on Wix, Squarespace, or WordPress.com?

Yes, as long as your plan lets you add custom HTML or an embed block. On some site builders, that option is only on paid site plans, so check yours before you start. If it is not available, you can still share the form as a public link and put that link on your page, your Instagram bio, and your Google Business Profile.

Can I put a QR code on my shop counter?

Qwenvo does not generate QR codes itself. Copy the form's public link and paste it into any free QR generator. It is a two minute job, and it is handy for a salon ddsk or a shop window.

What if I get spam enquiries?

Add the Captcha block before you publish. If spam still gets through, you can also close the form after a set number of responses or prevent duplicate submissions from the Settings drawer.

Your next step

Open the contact form template, cut it down to five fields, and set your notification email. Then copy the embed code onto your Contact page and send yourself a test enquiry from your phone. Do it today, while you have the site open.
