Omar Khayyam is an Uzbek restaurant at 3159 Coney Island Ave in Brooklyn, near Brighton Beach. It is a small, busy room, and weekend visitors should expect a line, though guests say seating moves quickly.
The kitchen is known for shashlik and kebabs, fish, Uzbek salads, a much-praised eggplant salad, chebureki and desserts. Staff are polite and happy to recommend dishes to anyone new to Central Asian food. Open every day except Tuesday.
